How do I verify my Google Account without my old phone?
Want to log into your Google account, but can't find your phone-it was either forgotten or stolen? While you are using 2-factor authentication for additional security, your phone then acts like a key to your account. Is there any chance to log into the Google account without the 2FA code or your smartphone? Yes, slim, but here is what you can do.
Case 1: Is Any Device Logged in to Your Google Account
Do you have another phone, tablet, or maybe a computer where you are currently logged into your Google account? In that case, you can definitely turn off the 2FA from there and get back into your Google account.
Open Google Account Settings > Security > 2-Step Verification and click Turn off. You'll then be prompted to enter your Google account password to verify, but rest assured, you won't be asked for any 2FA code.
Case 2: Suppose You Have a Trusted Device
Keep in mind that when you logged in to your Google account, there was an option there that said something like, "Don't ask again on this device?" If you log in on any device without unchecking that option, Google marks the device as a trusted device and will never ask for 2FA on that device. Most probably, it is owned by you or somebody you trust.
So, find a device that you have already used to log into Google in the past. If it is a trusted device, then you can sign in without 2-factor authentication. After signing in, navigate to Google Account Settings > Security > 2-Step Verification to turn off 2FA.
Case 3: Still Can't Sign into Google Without 2FA
If everything mentioned above does not work, then the last solution is to contact Google. You can do it by clicking on Get help on the 2FA page.
Better chances of account recovery are to use a device you have logged in before and connect to Wi-Fi familiar to both your device and your account. You will also be asked to enter your phone number, email ID, and security questions if any. Later, they'll review your request and send an access link to the recovery email address. This entire process may take more than 3 to 5 days.
